Joseph F Howley IV, Chief Executive Officer, Founder

Mr. Howley has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur. He founded and successfully excited several startups. He has been involved in software development, management, marketing, fitness, nutrition, luxury spas and sales training. At 22 he joined the police force and worked his way up to the rank of detective. He was recognized for his investigative skills and work on complex criminal cases. He served as vice president and lobbyist for his police union before a serious hockey injury ended his 12-year law enforcement career. Mr. Howley led our specialized team through a successful six-year project that resulted in our patent pending software technology and award winning business model. Mr. Howley is the architect of our platform and provisional patent holder for our communications and schedule management application. Leading specialized teams through long complex projects is a common theme in Mr. Howley’s career. Mr. Howley’s ability to build relationships, raise capital, motivate and lead successful projects is a company asset. Joe is a life-long amateur hockey player and fitness enthusiast. Joe is also a certified personal trainer and a certified sports nutrition specialist.

Mike Benes Chief Marketing Officer, Co-Founder

Mike leads the creative strategy, marketing and branding efforts for Trainer MD®. He brings over 25 years of experience running successful creative organizations. He has vast experience in the healthcare and technology industries. Mike has worked with the most recognizable brands in business, including Apple, Next, Polaroid, Bose and Spaulding Rehabilitation. His ability to assess and understand the needs of clients and their projects to create memorable customer experiences has made Mike a sought after commodity around the globe in the marketing world. Mike’s talent and experience is an asset for TrainerMD®, our partners and our clients.

Fritz Brown, MBA (CIS), LSSBB Chief Operations Officer

Fritz brings 18 years of corporate experience in technology, finance and business development in several different industries which include healthcare, government, cyber security and legal to name a few. He is skilled at translating highly technical concepts and the implementation needs of C-level executives to the CTO level so that both the technical and business needs of an organization are met. Fritz networks in many organizations to stay ahead of the curve on cutting edge technology along with connecting other technologies into the fold in order to maintain security, stability and compliance. Fritz played semi-professional football for many years.

Erik Monostory, MBA, VP of Strategy and Finance

Erik is supporting the TrainerMD® Management Team with business planning, corporate strategy, valuation and fund-raising activities. He has worked extensively on the company’s financial model. Erik brings over a decade of startup, management consulting, biotech and engineering experience to the TrainerMD team. He has led successful efforts in new partnerships, corporate development, medical research, go-to-market and revenue generation strategies. Erik has a competitive nature and enjoys producing award winning business plans. Erik will be an ongoing asset for team projects and strategic business planning.

Mark Cummings, VP of Public Relations and Development

Mark will create and execute strategies to promote TrainerMD with all constituencies, with a specific focus on healthcare systems and the fitness industry. As a senior healthcare leader with over 35 years of experience in Development, Marketing and Communications, Mark will employ best practices to create significant exposure for TrainerMD. He will also utilize his fund-raising experience to secure additional investment support, as needed.

Joseph Proia, VP of Sales and Business Development

Mr. Proia is a motivational speaker and sought after sales leader. He has risen to the top sales position in just about every company he has ever worked for. His sales skills, business development, leadership qualities and his ability to keep sales teams highly motivated and engaged will be an ongoing asset for our team. Joe played semi-professional football.

Scott Lutch, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Lutch is a primary care physician and the Chief of Cardiology at Milton Hospital. He has been a lifelong amateur athlete and wellness advocate. He has extensive experience working with medical programs, health promotion and athletes. Dr. Lutch holds an NSCA, CSCS personal training certification and has been a triathlon competitor for years. Dr. Lutch is uniquely qualified in fitness, athletics and medicine. Doctor Lutch is the embodiment of TrainerMD®. His knowledge, experience and passion for fitness, athletics and health promotion will continue to be an asset to TrainerMD®.

Doug Fairbanks, Fitness Adviser

Doug is widely recognized as a top US professional athlete trainer and has worked with some of the biggest names in professional sports. Doug has trained over 150 elite professional athletes in multiple sports and has a reputation for his ability to help restore athletes back to peak performance after they have suffered from serious injuries. Doug uses a unique combination of fitness, nutrition and behavioral protocols which he has developed over his extensive career, to achieve amazing performance improvements and outcomes with his clients. His understanding, broad knowledge and experience of working with athletes and clients of all ages and fitness levels over the last 20 + years will continue to be an extremely valuable asset to Trainer MD® now and well into the future.

Dr. Stephen Schmitz, MD, MPH, Medical Adviser

Dr. Schmitz was the first investor in TrainerMD®. He has been a wellness advocate for years and has extensive experience working with corporate medical programs and health promotion. Dr. Schmitz was Connecticut’s first full-time hospital-based health promotion physician. Dr. Schmitz is certified and qualified to deliver CME, CEU, CEC, continuing education credits in drug and dietary supplement safety, for physicians, nurses, trainers and allied health professionals. His knowledge, experience and passion for health promotion will continue to be an asset to the company.

Darryl Elliot, Physical Therapy Adviser

Darryl attended Northeastern University and graduated as a physical therapist in 1990. During his 25+ year career, he has provided physical therapy at the Carney Hospital, in private practices, and at Boston University. Darryl also held an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) Certification from 1996 to 2006. He taught both physical therapy and athletic training courses as an adjunct faculty member at Northeastern University and Boston University.

Bernie Heine, MBA, Business Adviser

Bernie has more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning, strategy consulting, project management, engineering and consulting. He has led strategic planning initiatives, developed corporate and business unit strategy, and evaluated business growth opportunities. Bernie has an MBA in business from Harvard, where he is an active alumnus. Bernie has been a great business coach helping Joe and the team at critical points in our business evolution.

Matthew Furlong, Technology Adviser

Mr. Furlong was a US Naval Officer, F-18 fighter pilot, software engineer and security expert for the National Security Agency (NSA). In 1999 Mathew and Joe co-founded a leading technology startup company funded by Samsung. Together they developed one of the Internet’s first integrated and adaptive immersive imaging 3D technology platforms. The platform featured multiple photo-realistic virtual reality 3D tour-modules of travel destinations with embedded interactive commercials. Mathew is a world leading developer of 3D immersive imaging technology which may now interface with the TrainerMD® platform. Mr. Furlong’s cyber security background and diverse technology experience will continue to be an incredible asset in the development of future TrainerMD® technology projects and innovative digital marketing solutions.

Ken DeMoura, Esq. Company Outside Counsel

Ken is a Legal Advisor and an accomplished attorney and counselor to individuals and businesses. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1986, Ken has been recognized by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and as fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. He is consistently recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and has been included in the New England Edition of Super Lawyer's Corporate Counsel since 2010. Ken is AV rated by Martindale Hubbel. He is a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation Institute and serves as its Treasurer and one of its directors. He is also an advisor to the Trial Advocacy Workshop at Harvard Law School. From 1987 until 2013 Ken was an adjunct professor of law at New England School of Law. He served as managing partner of the Boston office of Adler Pollock & Sheehan and a member of its Executive Committee from 2001 until 2007. In 2012, Ken founded DeMoura|Smith LLP. Ken’s vast legal experience and network in the Boston area and will be an ongoing asset to TrainerMD. Ken is also a lifelong fitness enthusiast and has been playing amateur soccer for more than 30 years.

Edward Russavage, Esq. Company Outside Counsel

Ed is a Legal Advisor and an accomplished attorney and counselor to individuals and businesses. Ed is a shareholder at Wolf Greenfield, the leading IP firm located in Boston, MA. Ed is a Patent Attorney that provides strategic counseling in many technical areas, including software, advertising and related data sciences, bioinformatics, medical devices, 3D printing, internet-based technologies, and electrical technology areas. Ed Specializes in IP strategy for startups and strategic portfolio development for small to mid-size companies. Advanced counseling in patent strategy, strategic patent portfolio development, post grant challenges, software licensing and open source issues. Mark Solakian, Esq. Company Outside Counsel
